Christa Timmerman
Christa Timmerman has been a health educator with the Larimer County Department of Health and Environment for three years. She focuses her efforts on tobacco prevention with youth by coordinating the TobacNO Youth Coalitions in our county. The youth coalitions learn about tobacco related issues, and contribute to making policy changes that can reduce tobacco use and youth uptake of tobacco and nicotine products. She received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree from the University of Montana with a concentration in community health and is attending the Colorado School of Public Health at Colorado State University for her master’s degree. In her off time she enjoys any activity that gets her outside including skiing, fishing, hiking, and camping.
Sara Dasugo
Sara Dasugo is a senior Human Services major at the University of Northern Colorado, where she also works as a Drug Educator with the Center for Peer Education. Additionally, she also works as an intern with the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment’s Tobacco Control Program. She is passionate about health equity, social justice, and prevention education. In my free time, shes loves to take my dog on walks around the university, play with her makeup, and spend time with her family.
Chelsie Covey
Chelsie Covey is a health educator at the Larimer County Department of Health and Environment where she focuses on youth tobacco and marijuana prevention. Chelsie earned her Master of Public Health degree at the University of Missouri and is a Certified Health Education Specialist.
Quinn Hutchinson
Quinn Hutchinson received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Colorado State University. Quinn is a talented Certified Addiction Counselor I. She has worked in diverse clinical settings including inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment and prevention programs. Quinn currently works as a seasoned Addiction Specialist at Turning Point Center for Youth and Family Development in Fort Collins. She leads marijuana workshops across Northern and Eastern Colorado. Quinn is also a certified yoga instructor and is passionate about drug prevention and healthy living.
Hailey Slee
Hailey SleeI currently works at the Boys & Girls Club in Fort Collins as the Teen Program Specialist. She has been with the club for over three years and she oves what she does. Part of her job is to plan, initiate and implement after school programs and identify problems of local youth and work to establish programs that meet those needs. She is also a former paralegal and have my associate's degree in paralegal studies.
Laurel Carter
Laurel has experience partnering with a wide range of youth on their journey through adolescents. As an early childhood therapist, Laurel incorporated mindfulness and yoga into her work with children and families, strengthening their understanding and compassion for one another. In a university setting, Laurel was able to incorporate mindfulness and yoga with acutely suicidal college-aged students and staff, helping them recognize the control they can have within their lives. As the former Program Director at a local substance abuse prevention non-profit, Laurel was able to incorporate mindfulness and yoga into the substance abuse prevention education as a tool for young people to make choices that are in-line with who they truly are. Currently, Laurel practices mindfulness-based therapy and yoga therapy in Fort Collins at Heart Centered Counseling and the therapeutic yoga center, Awarefull.
Adam Musielewicz
Adam is the current Program Director a Team Wellness & Prevention in Fort Collins. Adam has had the privilege of working with youth in a variety of settings, from youth experiencing homelessness in Denver, to refugee youth attempting to fit into a new community. With a prevention focus, Adam is committed to using his past experience to work alongside youth in supporting “whole health.” Team Wellness & Preventions’ programs mirror this model, focusing on skills such as Mindfulness that can support social, emotional, intellectual, and environmental wellness for both youth and the greater community.
Lucy Troup
Dr. Lucy Troup Currently is Director of the Troup Lab and co-director of the Center for Applied Cognitive Neuroscience in the Department of Psychology at Colorado State University. She is also Affiliate Faculty in the Molecular Cellular Integrate Neuroscience Program. Her research focus is centered round Emotion Processing using a brain imaging technique that records generalized electrical activity in the brain through the scalp, Electroencephalogram (EEG). EEG signals are applied using a special approach known as Event Related Potentials that links this activity to particular “events”. The goal of her research program is to better understand the endogenous and exogenous variables that influence emotional expression recognition.
